Leadership Assessment and Development Workshop
In surveys that ask, “What’s missing in organizational
success?” the most common answer is “Leadership.” Which
is a little like saying the main thing missing from the sea is water.
We all know what failures of leadership look like. But what does success
look like? What are the traits of a leader-rich organization?
Such organizations simultaneously develop the capabilities of their
people to awaken their effect on the organization and create its effectiveness
in the market and community. Each leader in such an organization
must learn to foster business leadership, technology leadership, value-adding
process flow leadership (enfolding supply chain into the whole) and
regenerative leadership (growth and development of people, processes,
product, markets and boeyond), simultaneously, no matter their functional
role.
All development must be aligned with a distinctive, compelling, and
highly relevant strategy and executed with precision against rigorous
and exacting performance criteria. Finally, leadership must come from
persons who exhibit purposeful behavior, refusing to allow their own
ego to be the driver. Rather, they live out the idea of serving stakeholders
by bringing their own essence and the uniqueness of others into the
work.
Organizations that excel at the ongoing and iterative development
of their “whole system” in this way create high degrees
of competitive differentiation and “market non-displace-ability”. They
enjoy sustained, industry-leading performance and self-renewing cycles
of innovation and value-creation in service to customers, employees,
stock holders, the community and other stakeholder systems.
Format:
Your Senior Management and ideally other cross-functional Leaders
in your organization, will:
- Evaluate your organization’s leadership capacity relative
to the “enterprise roles for leadership direction” and
determine where your current leadership fits in relation to your
companies potential. (Most organizations have barely tapped leadership
potential at all levels of the organization.)
- Test your leadership capacity against the four core capacities
required for a strategic execution of a grow strategy which is much
more demanding than an improvement strategy.
- Assess the quality of your current leadership hiring and development
process and your capability to deliver on the strategic direction
you have set as a result.
- Audit how well you have structured your leadership development
practices and management processes in order to be able to deliver
on your strategy.
- Discover how you are positioned relative to your competition on
a “hierarchy of leadership capability.”
Benefits:
- Validate the viability of your existing leadership capacity
- Test the degree of alignment that your leadership team has with
the strategy.
- Learn capabilities that will ensure that the current leadership
is working to execute on the full potential of the business’ strategy.
- Know how well you are set up functionally to develop leadership
capacity and where your weaknesses exist
- Gain alignment on critical arenas where your leadership capacity
may or may not hold up in competitive environment and where you need
to upgrade
- Insight into the nine interrelated arenas where your organization
must develop leadership in order to deliver on a strategy
- Awareness of the six elements that determine the overall health
of your organization and where you have significant shortfalls that
must be addressed.
- This “Strategic Assessment” workshop is only one module
in InterOctave’s™ larger “Strategic Intensive Series”,
a “whole systems” technology for the next era of business
performance…the Developmental era.
