Value-Adding is not the same as Value-Added. Value-adding
is a way of thinking about work to continue to bring in more
value. Value-added is a static organization’s way of
finding waste and creating efficiency.
Value-Absorbing processes are currently more typical and done
in the name of Value-Added Work. In each case, the thinking
is about problems that existed in the past rather than on creating
what “could be” for the future; micro-viewing the
market and filtering out changes happening around them; concentrating
on short term benefits and satisfactions to the detriment of
the whole.
Where a value-adding process view and capabilities have been
introduced into organizations—a different way of thinking
about the work— it fosters thinking from the perspective
of the Stakeholders—how we can add more value for all
of them; making certain everything is good for the whole, not
just the parts—contributing value to the whole; avoidance
of actions that steal from the future to accommodate the present;
Finding the highest levels of effectiveness and therefore efficiency.
Learn the concepts, strategies and tools to create a Value-Adding
Process in your organization so distractions and waste do not
make your Value-Absorbing. Approx. 3 hours.
