February 2002 Harvard Business Review, found that
among managers, a mere 10% are able to be strategically focused
and purposeful, or working in a reflective rather than reactive
manner. They called these effective managers "Purposeful".
The focus of this workshop is to develop understanding of
what you can do to increase purposeful behavior, in yourself,
and in helping others do the same. People are frequently hindered
in being purposeful by their personal characteristics and behavior
patterns. And if these patterns do not lead to purposeful behavior – the
behavior that takes into account the whole and uniqueness of
the enterprise or organization – then the enterprise
does not get the results that make a difference to the organization
as a whole.
Manager's need to adopt an approach that relies on five developmental
processes, each with the intent of ensuring a particular capacity
in people that is needed to be a master of their behavior and
to move steadily toward human excellence. People pursuing excellence
leverages the higher potential of the organization, thereby
building the capacity to serve the organization, that is absent
without these pattern changing abilities. Approx.
